This Birding safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for mountain gorilla tracking and specialty birds’ observation. There are less than 800 mountain gorillas in the whole world. Uganda is home to more than a half of these beautiful and endangered apes. Therefore, Gorilla tracking in Uganda is a must experience not to be missed. Bwindi impenetrable forest habituates families of mountain gorillas along with more than ten other species of primates, for example, Chimpanzees, Colobus, Olive baboons, extra. Bwindi is also one of the wealthiest forests for flora and fauna in Africa and nowhere for your adventure.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park boasts of a 360 bird species record with 23 of Uganda’s 24 Albertine Rift endemics among which include the globally threatened species such as the African Green Broadbill and Shelley’s Crimsonwing. Day 1: birding uganda tours: arrival for uganda mountain gorillas and birdwatching tour
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to the Hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, we bird Entebbe botanical Gardens or Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.
Day 2: birding uganda tours: bird to bwindi impenetrable national park in western uganda – uganda birding safaris
After an early breakfast, we bird to western Uganda for the birding experience in Africa’s No. 1 birding Spot. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to over a half of the world’s endangered Mountain Gorillas and is home to a good number of nocturnal and diurnal Primates, therefore, expect an excellent safari.
Day 3 birding uganda tours: birding and uganda gorilla tracking – bird uganda
Early in the morning, you assemble for a short briefing at the trekking departure point before heading for the unforgettable experience with the world endangered gentle giants. While trekking, you could encounter some forest species. If trekking is successful early, you can have a self-guided birding evening around the premises. Today we bird Ruhija in search for the darling African Green Broadbill, Handsome Francolin, Strange Weaver, Shelley’s and Dusky Crimson-wings, Stripe-breasted Tit, Rwenzori Batis, White-browed Crombec, White-naped Raven, Purple-breasted Sunbird, Sharp’s Starling, Mountain masked and Rwenzori Apalises and many more.
Day 5 birding uganda tours: uganda birding tour at mubwindi – birdwatching to kampala/entebbe – departure
Half’- day birding Mubwindi swamps. We look out for the Yellow-eyed Black Flycatcher, White-tailed Blue Flycatcher, Brown-capped Warbler, Black-billed Weaver, Black-necked Weaver, Red-headed Malimbe, Grey-headed Sparrow, Waller’s Starling, Stuhlmann’s Starling, Montane Oriole, Many Coloured Bush-Shrike, Bocage’s Bush-Shrike, Mountain Illadopsis, Rwenzori Nightjar, to mention but a few and set off bak to Entebbe for your late evening departure.
